Photography is magical.

It preserves fleeting moments, encapsulating the essence of people and place. Photos contribute to the rich visual tapestry of memory, allowing it to be relived, shared, and inherited. They become priceless treasures of life. With this in mind, I take great responsibility and care to document your day.

My vision is to capture something beautiful, simple, rhythmical, with deeper meaning. I’m not fixated on documenting every small detail of an event, but rather a considered, thoughtful, sometimes imaginative portrayal of moments. A mix of visual experimentation and documentation. The images should speak to both the emotions of the moment and the context of the larger story, whether it be a wedding or a personal portrait.

You place a lot of trust in your photographer. We share in the emotions and intimate moments. The first kiss, embraces with friends and family, tears and laughter, that embarrassing dance your uncle always does. Thus working with a photographer is like any friendship. It requires trust, honesty, respect, and perhaps most importantly, a shared vision. I'm not motivated by awards or publications. Just the honest capturing of moments that you'll cherish for years to come. If you like what you see and would like to share your story and vision, let’s get in touch.

FAQ

How would you describe your style?

My vision is to capture visual poetry. Beautiful, simple, rhythmical, with deeper meaning. I’m not fixated on documenting every small detail, but rather a considered, thoughtful, sometimes imaginative portrayal of moments. A mix of visual experimentation and documentation. The images should speak to both the emotions of the moment and the context of the larger story, whether it be a wedding or a personal portrait.

However, that doesn't mean neglecting formals or details of the hard work you've put in. These are as integral to the experience and memories of your day. But should you have extensive shot lists, my style may not be for you.

We're interested! What's next?

For weddings, contact me first to see if your date is available. It's usually best to have a ceremony date set (have a venue booked) before we discuss. We'll set up a meeting so we can chat face to face, over the phone, or video chat. We'll discuss your wedding day details, your vision for the day, and what you're looking for in terms of photography. We can also enjoy some drinks while we're at it ;) But don't forget to look at the galleries so that you are sure you love the photography as well!

To confirm your booking, all that's needed is a signed contract and a 30% non-refundable retainer. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding day. While I don't offer books in a package, I also don't charge crazy prices, so we can design one when you want without feeling pressured. There are many options and prices to choose from, so there's always something for everyone.

For lifestyle portraits, contact to discuss dates and locations. If you're unsure where you'd like to go, I have a list of locations you might be interested in! (Often your home is a great place for portraits, too!) The session fee is due on the day of the shoot.

Do you work with second shooters?

It depends. While I try to have a partner when I can, we can discuss whether having one is necessary for you, especially for smaller weddings. They do allow both of us to be more creative, with additional coverage and angles. I shoot with people who are enthusiastic and professional at what they do, while aligning with my style and vision.

How many photos do we get and when can we expect them?

A typical wedding yields around 5~600 images, though this can vary dramatically depending on the length and events of the day. Portraits also vary, but generally result in about 60~100 images. I strive for quality rather than quantity. All originals are backed up three (yes, three) times before they are sorted, color corrected, and edited. The images I deliver are ALL edited to my style before they are uploaded to an online gallery for you to share and enjoy. You can expect to receive your memories no later than 3 months of your day, though typically much, much sooner than that.

You'll receive a beautiful, mobile ready online gallery with high resolution, downloadable images to share and print as you see fit. Favourite the ones you want to see in a book, or post your images on Facebook or Instagram. The galleries are guaranteed to be online for at least one year after going live. Unfortunately, due to size constraints and to deliver consistent quality, original RAW images are not available.

Can my guests take pictures during the wedding?

Of course! The wedding is about the guests, too. As long as they don't jump in front of my shots and are respectful of the time constraints we have, they are just as welcome to enjoy the experience. That being said, I do have some tips for an unplugged wedding as well!

What equipment do you use?

My gear consists of two full-frame Nikon bodies with three prime lenses and two speedlights. That's it! I've refined my style to only need minimal gear, and this simplicity helps me to be discreet and concentrate on capturing the moments, not fumble around with gear and make a production out of your day.
